Politically correct idiocy

A Philadelphia newspaper wanted to do a public service by printing photos of fugitives wanted in murder investigations. The police department said there were 41 total, and the paper published all 41 pictures.

Not one white person among them. All were black, Hispanic or Asian.

Some black community leaders and civic groups screamed about racial discrimination and ethnic insensitivity, threatened a boycott and so on.

The Daily News stood firm against the pressure, said wise up, folks, not one murder fugitive is white, that's life, sit down and shut up.

No, wait, that was my imagination. The Daily News printed an apology and said printing the pictures was a mistake.

Another triumph of political correctness.

We are becoming a gutless nation of namby-pamby, kowtowing, spineless idiots. And it is un-American! When illogical pressure makes us afraid to tell the truth, or to even have a controversiaol opinion, political correctness is attacking free speech.

You can probably name ten or fifteen government policies that are just plain silly, but you know nothing will be done to change because the politicians are too afraid of taking a stand for something in which they secretly believe. A teacher is attacked for correctly using the word "niggardly" which means stingy. UC Berkeley doesn't play the national anthem on 9-11 for fear of offending someone. The NEA tells teachers not to blame anyone for the 9-11 attacks. New York wanted to change the race of 3 white firemen in the famous flag-raising photo, to remake one of them black and one Hispanic in a memorial statue: the project was killed.

Oregon outlaws the word Oriental in state business. Minneapolis newspaper readers protest use of the word retarded. Three in 4 college students are being taught there's actually no "right" or "wrong" in the world. And most current and maybe worst, racial profiling at airports is politically incorrect.

I would say that PC is a damning piece of evidence against hollow-headed liberalism. You googoos may now burst into tears.
