On this day that becomes Christmas Eve, a kind word for a little San Antonio tradition.

Nothing huge. Simple, small act of everyday life.

If you're one of the drivers who lets me pull out into traffic, thank you. If you wave me in, just to be helpful, I appreciate it. Helping other drivers fit in is a pleasant aspect of la vida local— which you won't see a lot of other places.

Sometimes when people move here that surprises them. They of course take right to the convenience of it. Some of 'em adopt the tradition and pass it along. Enough so that I think it may be actually growing. We do have a pretty high percentage of people who help others get along in traffic.

It's kind of down home and world class at the same time, being a little easygoing in traffic. And I know it's been particularly tough this past few weeks, with everybody and his grandma on the freeways and in the mall parking lots.

San Antonio is a very nice place to be, because so many of you are so helpful to one another. Good for you. And the price of it is real reasonable.
