Smoking Ban Retreat

The mayor doesn't need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows. There's been a terrific fuss about expanding the Smoking Ban. Mayor Garza has been forced to retreat.

If his pet Smoking Ban project is ever enacted, it will be by public vote. In his tactical retreat, Garza has withdrawn the proposal from consideration by the city council, where it would have failed.

The system works, when the public bothers to get involved. If you hadn't contacted your elected City Hall representatives, this scheme would've greased through like a jet pig with his ears pinned back. You can put that in a pipe and smoke it..

You have loudly told city hall that you don't want city government unnecessarity telling businessmen how to compete, and have forced it to a public vote.
