Flag-Signing President

Matt Drudge's high-hit website finds controversy in President Bush autographing an American flag.

The Drudge site ran a photo of the president inking a miniature Stars and Stripes. The article text said:

"..a picture has surfaced showing the president signing a well-wisher's hand-held American flag-- a direct violation of the Federal Flag Code .
According to the law, "[t]he flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature."
The President was meeting and greeting supporters on July 23, 2003 at Beaver Aerospace and Defense in Livonia, Michigan where the alleged transgression occured [sic]."

So reports the Drudge site.

If the nation is this hard up for controversy, my friends, we as a nation are in excellent shape!
