Raw Eggs for Morale!

What kind of person would pick up a chicken egg, put it in his mouth, and eat it shell and all?

Raw eggs can carry salmonella, which I suppose I'll mention is also found in the excrement of turtles. Salmonella can make you very sick, and it occasionally kills, usually a child or an old person.

What kind of person eats a raw egg in its shell? According to columnist Roddy Stinson in today's Express-News, a SAWS person— an employee of the San Antonio Water System. Stinson reports that SAWS confirmed it, saying:

"..40 or 50 vice presidents, directors and managers participated in the egg-eating challenge.
"Essentially, eggs were presented to them on plates, and they ate them, shell and all, and chased them with iced tea.
"Why did we do the egg trick? To motivate people," [said the water system's CEO]. "I told them, 'We're going to do this.' It was a surprise.'"

I didn't know consuming an egg - like a rat snake does - would motivate people. SAWS must be an interesting place, if 40 or 50 people will eat raw eggs when the boss tells them to. I reckon the SAWS folks can thank the stars that their boss isn't into eating bugs for morale.

Please note: morale is excellent at KTSA, so don't any bosses get any ideas here.
