Bush and Gays
I bet my big, fat Talk Host paycheck on one thing: Gay Marriage is not merely a hot topic. It is one of those rare things a MegaTopic.
In a half day yesterday, well over a thousand people responded to my internet Ten-Foot Poll about President Bush and a Constitutional Amendment forbidding gay marriage. Hundreds and hundreds of people took time to express themselves in writing.
Folks, at this point, there is more interest, involvement and passion about Bush and Gay Marriage, than there was about the invasion of Iraq. I say this based on my email, online poll results, and phone calls. It surprises me. I think the invasion was ten times more important and meaningful.
The endorsement of a proposed anti-gay-marriage Constitutional Amendment is likely to become a tenacious, major issue in President Bush's campaign for re-election. As it stands, the potential for unintended consequences is immense.
