Donkey Woman

But enough about the abuse of men in Iraqi prisons. Let's move on to the abuse of women. Old women.

A newspaper headline today reads. "Elderly Woman 'Ridden Like A Donkey' by US Troops." It is not satire: how I wish it was.

Here's the first paragraph:

US soldiers who detained an elderly Iraqi woman placed a harness on her, made her crawl on all fours and rode her like a donkey, Prime Minister Tony Blair’s personal human rights envoy to Iraq has claimed.

The old women of Iraq must be pretty tough. They say this one was in her 70s. She spent about six weeks, without charges, in Abu Ghraib prison and another detention center. She claims that guards insulted her and called her a donkey— then came in one day with a harness, and humiliated her further by riding her.

Ah, the campaign for hearts and minds rolls on.

Kind of hard for me to believe this one without substantiation. But the disgusting thing is, it's now something one could believe.
