Air Pollution Blame

Weathermen see a little cool front headed our way. But it won't be cool. Maybe we ought to call it a "not quite as hot" front.

If it doesn't stall, and it does get to San Antonio, Mark Langford says it's likely to cause very high ozone levels. Those get us in trouble with the environmental agencies.

So we'll probably hear the same ol' stuff about not filling up our cars, or running gas-engine tools and mowers, and such.

There have already been some high ozone levels this week— here and in Austin. You'd kind of expect that. But little ol' La Grange had high ozone, too, and there aren't many cars over there. Or much of anything really. La Grange is on the Colorado River about 100 miles east of here. Population 4- or 5-thousand.

Fact is, if La Grange had high ozone, it blew in from somewhere else. They get blamed for stuff that isn't their fault, just like San Antonio does.

Congress should be ashamed of itself for continuing to let the EPA blame towns for pollution that came from somewhere else.
