Gov. Blow-Dry Saves

Big Saver

I think the governor of Texas wants you to congratulate him for saving your tax money. He says he has reduced his own office budget by an amazing 14 percent!

But first, maybe you better hear how he accomplished this astonishing 14% budget reduction.

Here's how, according to the San Antonio Express-News:

AUSTIN --- To reduce the budget of the governor's office, Gov. Rick Perry transferred the salaries of two maids, a cook and a porter at the Governor's Mansion to a state agency while continuing their duties. Perry's office also reassigned the salaries of five other staffers [who remain assigned to the governor's office]...
Last year, Perry [promised] he would cut his own office 14 percent...

Got that? Governor Blow-Dry reduced his office budget by keeping the same maids and porter and what-all, but making another state agency pay their salaries.

Are you fooled?
