Al Qaeda: Everywhere!

It isn't hard to get the idea that party politics are ruling the war on terrorism— the most despicable kind of partisan politics.

One example is the political issue of importing cheaper drugs from Canada. The other day a wazoo in the health bureaucracy announced that one target of al Qaeda is, ta da!, medicine imported from Canada.

Something the administration has an interest in, suddenly becomes a terrorist target. What a surprise.

Several days ago, the government announced arrests of so-called terrorist supporters up in Albany, New York. The leader of a mosque was supposed to have been caught in a government sting operation involving financing shoulder-fired missiles.

I said at the time that I'd bet a paycheck the case turns out to be nothing.

Headline on an AP story today: Albany Terror Evidence May Be Flawed. A document found in a terrorist camp, says the story, "may have been mistranslated" by the Defense Department. Who says so? The FBI.

I wonder if we'll be seeing Al Qaeda everywhere after the presidential election.
