Hot Air One way to deal with tough problems is to ignore them. If the problem is over there, spend your time looking over here. It won't solve anything, or make it even a little less serious, but it saves having to actually do anything. That's what our nation does. All sane politicians know the US can't provide the retirement benefits promised to aging Baby Boomers. The problem over there is overpromising: the politicians look over here, ignoring it. Same with the new prescription drug benefit. There's nowhere near enough money in the pipeline to pay for the promises which the politicians have made. Neither Swift Boat Boy nor Mister Mission Accomplished has stepped up to address serious issues which will require serious solutions. Instead, they promote schemes which will supposedly do more for more people, with no mention of the costs. They're both putting out so much hot air that I'm forming a whole new theory on Global Warming. Brad Messer, commentary, KTSA.
