![]() Brad Messer Commentary KTSA Friday, September 10, 2004 Tomorrow being the third anniversary of the 9-11 attack, I volunteer to be the lone voice making one ignored point: The war against terrorists - aka the War On Terror - took place and is still taking place in Afghanistan.
Not Iraq. Afghanistan, which is where we think the perpetrator of 9-11 escaped to. His name, seldom mentioned and little remembered, is Osama bin Laden. The war on terrorists is not taking place in Iraq, because Saddam Hussein's Iraq did not attack us. Iraq turns out to have been no threat to our national security. Of all the things on our List Of Reasons To Invade Iraq, Iraq possessed exactly none. Iraq was not a hotbed of terrorists scheming to attack us. Saudi Arabia was but not Iraq. I stand as one of the few people willing to endure deep disgust and even hate, by pointing out a truth. The War On Terrorists isn't in Iraq. Iraq didn't have 'em. Brad Messer commentary KTSA.
