![]() Brad Messer Commentary KTSA Wednesday, October 13, 2004 In tonight's final presidential debate, two big spenders of tax money will accuse one another of being big spenders of tax money. They'll cover health insurance, the loss of manufacturing jobs, unaffordable prescription drugs and so on. All those are important issues to some people. But to most people, all this presidential talk is a waste of time: they just want to know when the price of gas is going to come down, so they don't have to do without other important things in their daily lives. This week in Houston you can find service stations where all the gas grades AND diesel are $2 a gallon and up. That hits real people real hard. Both Bush and Kerry have blabbed that they can cut the budget deficit in half in five years. That's probably the largest bag of hot air going. Forget the fancy talk. Get gas affordable for working people again. Brad Messer commentary KTSA. Back
