Dead Serious

A lot of the time, I'm not very serious. You know me— whatever it is, I'll probably eventually find something amusing about it. But when I needle politicians, some people are getting mad at me.

Today on my website I am running one of the most ridiculous, faked-up photos of the whole presidential campaign. Most of you will see it as silly, funny and outlandish.. because that's what it is.

But an expressive minority can't take a joke. At all. When they see Kerry tenderly taking Bush in his arms, and the two gazing soulfully into one another's eyes, they're gonna flip.

In will come the hate email. In will come complaints about me to my boss. Mostly from people whose eyes are about a half-inch apart, is my guess.

To you of no humor whatsoever, I pass the Bush-Kerry photo along on the internet partly because it's ludicrous, and partly just to needle you dead-serious folks who stubbornly do the speed limit in the passing lane.

Starts out Monday with a bang.
