Dark in Iraq

Baghdad is 9 hours ahead of us and the sun went down ten or fifteen minutes ago. It is dark in Iraq. Our military operates at its best advantage in darkness, and in specific units they use the phrase, "We Rule the Night."

It is now Night #2 of Operation Dawn. Our Marines and Army, with some Iraqi help, continue hitting Fallujah in a two-pronged assault. The famed First Cavalry, with a lot of Texans out of Fort Hood, is there with heavy armor. CNN reported the First Cav ahead of the Marines moving into the eastern sector of Fallujah, opening the way for the Marines. The town is being hit with artillery, air strikes, small arms fire and mortars.

This is the third attempt this year at re-taking Fallujah.

Our hearts, prayers and full support are with our men as they engage in street fighting half a world away. KTSA will carry updates as often as they are available.
